Teresa Catalán
“Time and memory”
(Pamplona, 1951).
Composer. She has studied in Pamplona and Italy with Fernando Remacha, Ramón Barce and Agustín González Acilu. Master in aesthetics and music creativity. Doctor in art philosophy (Universidad de Valencia). She has won several composition prizes as the Premio Nacional de Música (2017). She has received the Encomienda de la Orden al Mérito Civil and she is member of JAKIUNDE (Academia de las Ciencias, las Artes y las Letras). She has been member of the Consejo Estatal de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música and from the Consejo Artístico de la Música (Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte). Currently she is member of the Consejo de Cultura del Gobierno de Navarra. Member of the Grupo de Compositores de Pamplona, she has ran many different courses, conferences and internacional festivals of contemporary music. She has written several musical technic treatises and publications in books and music journals. She imparts regularly courses and conferences in Universities, Conservatories and Institutions of many different countries. She has received commissions by national and international institutions and performers. Her pieces, recorded in CD (Spain, Germany and Hungary), has been played in the most important national and international festivals (Italy, Germany, France, Rusia, USA, Romania, Argentina, Hungary Cuba, etc). She is professor of Composition in Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.
